A very sharp analysis, well in line with the previous post.

Vance and you are deeply wrong: the fundamental idea of globalization was that economic development in China would create a capitalist bourgoise regime compatible with the west: not necessarily “democratic”, but mostly “open society” oligarchy. Xi successful coup in China and American populism have destroyed that blueprint for Utopia.

Vance is just a once insecure, overweight kid who tried venture capital and was a "democrat" in Silicon Valley and failed and now is going after "Hillbillies" in the midwest.. I guess you have to reinvent yourself time to time.

'System allegedly designed to spread market capitalism is being abandoned...' because too effective. Yes but that is being misleadingly loose with definitions of kind of economic system operating in China. To describe 'distribution' as the key problem in the West is surely correct. That may sound 'radical' to some- but is an index itself of how much 'common sense' has been abandoned. China' s success in distribution has transformed millions of lives.(see recent polls on gov approval ratings). But also has transformed planetary climate stability. As you correctly point out: now is the time above all else for co- operation to reduce GW gases, not play stupid games trying to preserve 'legacy' hierarchies.

Maga Hat! Presumably you only will believe American run polling. There are more recent ones but trend is still similar from 2013 Pew research 85% satisfied with government China vs 35% in US government. Or Edelman Trust barometer 2020 US from 37% to 40% compared to 90% Chinese...wonder why that might be??!! Would nt be differences in social economic outcomes would it?!!

Danish NGO 'alliance of democracies' 2024 report, using anonomous data gathering techniques, report 91% approval rating for Chinese government. Also US Ash report 2024 has similar numbers. Could be government is actually doing job- shock horror!

Your line of thought suggests, despite everything you still want USA influencing movement of world poltics/ thought/ economics. After Gaza USA has zero credibility left. It has forfeit right to be taken seriously on anything!
